CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care prepares you to indulge in a role as an educator enabling you to foster and develop learning in children, creating a fun, engaging, and effective learning hub. Augmenting the development of cognitive, social, and psycho-motor abilities in the primary and most crucial years of a child’s life is the essence of the course.

Acquire the knowledge and skills in providing support to children through play-based learning and helping them achieve developmental outcomes. With this higher-level qualification, you will further learn to supervise staff and children in an early childhood setting and plan and implement children’s education and care curriculum.

Work Placement/ Industry Experience

To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of at least 280 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. The total number of hours may be applied collectively across all units of competency that include the requirement for workplace hours.

The ability to obtain a Working with Children Check - Working with Children Check & Police Check required for industry work placement.

Entry Requirement

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who:

  • hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or
  • CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Victorian residents who undertake classroom-based or blended training may be eligible for Commonwealth and Victorian Government Funding (Skills First previously known as Victorian Training Guarantee).
